'Informa Markets' organizes Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok 2024

“Informa Markets Thailand” joins hands with partners Gem and Jewelry Industry Groupthe Federation of Thai Industries, Trade Association of Gem and Jewelry and Precious metals Board of Trade of Thailand, ASEAN Gem and Jewelry Trade Association, Thai Silver Jewelry Exporters Association, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization), Chanthaburi Gem and Jewelry Traders Association, and Thai Goldsmiths Association to jointly organize the event “Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok 2024” (JGAB 2024), which will be held between May 1-4, 2024, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center covering an area of more than 22,000 square meters, this event is an important gathering of gem and Jewellery traders around the world.It is expected that this year there will be at least 10,000 quality buyers around the world from more than 80 countries who will join in pushing Thai gem and Jewellery entrepreneurs to return to the world stage with support from the "SME Pang-Tang-Dai-Kuen" measure by the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), under the operations of the Federation of Thai Industries, which has a policy to promote SMEs through the BDS system or Business Development Service who want to receive support to attend the JGAB trade show in 2024 with a subsidy of 80% or up to 200,000 baht per person.

This year, “Informa Markets Thailand” has collaborated with the Gem and Jewelry Industry Group the Federation of Thai Industries, Trade Association of Gem and Jewelry and Precious metals Board of Trade of Thailand, ASEAN Gem and Jewelry Trade Association, Thai Silver Jewelry Exporters Association, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization), Chanthaburi Gem and Jewelry Traders Association, and Thai Goldsmiths Association have organized the event “Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok 2024” (JGAB 2024), which will be held from May 1–4, 2024, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. This event is an important gathering of gem and Jewellery traders around the world, including buyers, especially retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers, including designers from Southeast Asia, and there will also be seminars from jewelers around the world as well.

Organizing the Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok event, in addition to being an important stage for Thai entrepreneurs to meet and negotiate business with visitors and entrepreneurs both domestically and abroad, is also a platform to provide opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs in the business sector related to gems and Jewellery, especially small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, to show the potential of products produced in Thailand by Thai people (Made in Thailand) to be evident at the international level. The event is expected to have a total of over 600 booths from 15 countries, with leading gem and Jewellery traders from China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Poland, Singapore, and Turkey. It is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors from ASEAN countries China, India, and more than 75 countries around the world.

Within Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok 2024, there are interesting zones such as Fine Jewellery (gem Jewellery), Gold Jewellery (gold and gold Jewellery), Silver Jewellery (silver and silver Jewellery), Platinum (platinum), Gemstone (gemstone and gemstone Jewellery), Loose Diamonds (diamonds and diamond Jewellery), Pearls (pearl and pearl Jewellery), Equipment & Tools (equipment and tools), and the Manufacturing & Packaging group (manufacturers and packaging). There will be more than 30% of attendees at the exhibition from overseas.

Mr. Sanchai added that, currently, the value of Thai gem and Jewellery exports between January and November 2023 is 13,664.59 million US dollars, a decrease of 5.73 percent compared to the same period in 2022. It is the third export product in proportion to 5.22 percent of Thailand's overall exports, but if subtracted from the export of unwrought gold, it will be found that the actual export of gems and Jewellery is worth 8,101.45 million US dollars, an increase of 8.51 percent when considering the value of exports only in November 2023, it was worth 958.24 million US dollars, which grew as high as 10.27 percent compared to the same month in 2022, and if the value of gold exports is deducted, it is found that the actual exports of gems and Jewellery products.
